How to transfer WhatsApp data to new phone

How to transfer WhatsApp data to new Android phone without Google Drive

WhatsApp recently added an encrypted backups feature that allows your Google Drive and iCloud backups to be encrypted at the end.

This makes the service more secure overall. However, you can still back up your WhatsApp data and transfer it to another phone in completely offline ways. You need a file of compression application like RAR,it will save your time.

The method works by taking a backup of your files offline, retrieving all the data in one folder, and transferring that folder to another phone.

It can also be helpful if you are thin and do not have WiFi near you, avoiding the download and download of all your WhatsApp data, which may be too long in the data system. Here's how.

Step 1: Create a local backup of WhatsApp

Within WhatsApp, navigate to the three dot menu on the homepage and go to Settings / Chat / Cache and press ‘Back Up’.

After you create a backup copy of your local archive, you can ignore the Google Drive backup information, if any. You now have a local backup created for your phone's internal storage.

Create a backup copy of the location first.

When the local backup is ready, uninstall WhatsApp on the old device.

Step 2: Install RAR or other file compression application

Go to Google Play Store and download the RAR app and turn it off. We will use this to compress all of our WhatsApp data and make it into a single file. You can also select any other app you like.

Step 3: Press your WhatsApp data

Within the RAR application, you will see a directory of your phone's internal storage. Navigate to Android / Media and look for the ‘com.whatsapp’ folder.

Select the marker next to the com.whatsapp folder and then press the add archive button at the top (shaped like ‘+’). Every folder should now start turning into a .rar file.

Use RAR to convert a local backup folder into a single file that you can send to another phone.

Note that compressing all your WhatsApp data is a time consuming process and may take some time. You can also choose to make it a .zip file instead to save your time.

The only point is to make the entire folder a .zip file or a .rar file to make the whole transfer process worse.

Step 4: Transfer data to your new phone

Move the new com.whatsapp.rar file (or zip file if you have zipped) to your new phone where you want to set up WhatsApp.

Use RAR again to open the same file on the internal storage of the new phone and place the extracted folder (to be named ‘com.whatsapp’) in the same directory, Internal Storage / Android / Media.

Step 5: Now Install WhatsApp on your new phone

You can now install WhatsApp on the new phone and while performing the initial process, skip the Google Drive backup command so the app can try to check local backup instead.

This will enable WhatsApp to see the files we have returned to the specific directory in step 4.

Restore the detected backup and proceed through the entire installation process. When you are done, your WhatsApp account is now ready for the new phone.

You can now delete the .rar or .zip file that you created and copied to the new phone in step 4 to save the place.
